Elderly Forgotten?

I only have one Grandparent left in my life and sometimes I go weeks without speaking with her.  It’s not that I don’t care about her or that I don’t want to visit her.  It’s just, sometimes I find myself too focused on my own life.  I’ve heard other people say they don’t like spending time with their Grandparents because they always tell the same stories over and over again.  I totally see their point!  However I’ve come up with a solution.  I find that when I visit my Grandma for short periods of time more often, rather than once in a while for an extended time, the visits actually go very well.  Also I’ve realized that the stories don’t repeat as often!!

Valentine’s Day is just an excuse to raise the price of roses and have people spend way too much on things they don’t need.  Roses only last five days, if you’re lucky.  And I find a lot of women don’t want chocolate and candy.  They say “it’s too close to Christmas”.  I can understand that!!     I have tried very hard over the years not to spend money on the typical gifts.  I've found breakfast in bed is always a pleasant gesture, but it's nice to do that more than just once ...

The Underdog Had It's Day

The Saints ran away with the show.  Matt Stover, of the Indianapolis Colts put the first points on the board and at 42 years of age, is the oldest player to ever suit up for the Super Bowl.  It looked like the Colts were well on their way in the first quarter with ten unanswered points.  But man!  The Saints came out fighting after half time.  The Who rocked the house during halftime and perpetuated the energy for the Saints.  The opening kickoff of the second half was the start of the end...
