          My friend Shelly and I lost a good friend today.  He lived much longer than expected for his breed, but it seems the longer a member of your family is with you the harder it is to say goodbye.  I know we did the humane thing by taking him to the vet.  I know it would be selfish of us to keep him around just for our own comfort, but still there is a part of me that will always miss having him greet me when I came to visit.  It didn’t matter where he was, it always seemed like he knew the sound of my voice and made it a point to come and be close to me.  Teezee, you will be missed.

 

Driven to Quit!!

          Today marks the start of the Driven to Quit Challenge.  I should have blogged about this earlier but I find the less time I spend thinking about the fact I am quitting the easier it is to forget about cigarettes.  The last smoke I had was Saturday afternoon and that day it was the only one I had.  I have smoked since I was 18 and that would make it 12 years.  I’ve tried to quit before but I think I didn’t really want to.  The key is to want it for my life.  There is just no reas...

Breaking the Gold Record

             I have to admit a few days ago I had my doubts about our boys pulling it off.  I know I don’t have to go through the play by play because everyone was watching, but did they have to make it so dramatic?!   LOL   I mean it seemed like a plot right out of a movie.  The coolest thing that came out of these Olympics is the fact that our women had such a great showing on the podium.  If it wasn’t for everyone’s hard work we would have never beat the record for most gold medals i...
