I saw Avatar for the third time in 3D last night.  James Cameron and his team have made a movie experience I’ll truly miss seeing on the big screen.

Picture yourself trained to be the best you can be, fighting each day for the hope of a better life for all of humanity.  Then, one day having that ripped away from you and being held captive by a four wheeled assist vehicle.  That is where we find ourselves.  It would seem the lead character, Jake Sully, has been in a wheel chair for just long enough to finally start to come to terms with the fact he may never walk again.  For some of us, that would mean falling into a less productive life and maybe even feeling sorry for ourselves, day in and day out.  Not true for Sully, it added an irreplaceable amount of respect for life and an even stronger determination to bring peace to his world.

The experience of this movie is not something I could fully appreciate until I dropped all expectations and watched with a pure mind.  (Which is why, I’ve enjoyed it more each time.)  This is a movie you will regret not seeing in 3D.  It is the only way to truly feel the situation Cameron intended.  There have been a vast number of reviews written and blogs posted, some of which are pretty harsh.  But if you are leaving the decision to see Avatar, to someone who gets paid to find faults than you are doing yourself the biggest disservice.  The only thing you need to know going into this experience is it was written almost 15 years ago!  Think back to all the movies that would have come after.

The best decision Cameron ever made was to wait for the technology to be ready to tell this story.  I predict you will only be able to see it until the middle of March, SO HURRY!  There are a few new 3D movies set to hit theatres.  It is worth every penny to see it at least once.  I intended to see it two more times to match my record for seeing the Matrix in ’99!!  Maybe I’ll see you there!!  REMEMBER!!  JUST ENJOY YOURSELF!!
