Valentine’s Day is just an excuse to raise the price of roses and have people spend way too much on things they don’t need. Roses only last five days, if you’re lucky. And I find a lot of women don’t want chocolate and candy. They say “it’s too close to Christmas”. I can understand that!! I have tried very hard over the years not to spend money on the typical gifts. I've found breakfast in bed is always a pleasant gesture, but it's nice to do that more than just once a year. I don’t think we need holidays just to tell people how much we care. I’m kind of on the fence with this holiday. I could take it or leave it. I do however think it’s a close second to Thanksgiving in one respect. It reminds me of all the people that have made a difference in my life and what they truly mean to me.
